THE WORK
01 · THE CHALLENGE

Business financing is a trust problem, not a traffic problem.

On an affiliate model, I only get paid when a lead is genuinely usable — so volume alone is worthless. Business owners looking for capital have usually already been turned down somewhere and are wary of another form asking for their numbers. The task was to earn enough trust in a single scroll to get an honest application, across every industry that needs funding.

02 · EMOTIONAL MESSAGING

Speak to the pressure, not the product.

Nobody wakes up wanting a line of credit — they want payroll covered, a truck replaced, a contract they can finally say yes to. Creative led with that pressure rather than rates and terms. I tested three emotional angles against each other and let cost per lead decide: the rejection angle won at $11.64, the urgency angle held at $12.76, and the aspirational angle was cut at $20.82.

  • Rejection angle — “Bank said no?”
  • Urgency angle — payroll pressure
  • Reassurance-first ad copy
  • Losers cut inside days
03 · THE STRUCTURED FUNNEL

Qualify in steps, so the easy question comes first.

Instead of one intimidating form, the funnel opens with the question the owner actually wants to answer — how much do you need — then layers in revenue and timeline once they’re committed. Each step doubles as a filter, so the leads reaching underwriting already match the lending criteria for the product they need: SBA, line of credit, equipment financing or working capital.

  • Step 1 — funding amount
  • Step 2 — revenue & time in business
  • Product routing by profile
  • Clean handoff to underwriting
04 · THE RESULT

75 leads, one week, $927 spent.

Across three ad sets the campaign delivered 75 website leads from 103K impressions and 56.3K reach at an average $12.37 — with the winning angle down at $11.64 and headroom to scale. Because the funnel qualifies before it forwards, the volume that landed was volume the client could actually fund.
